The Senior Electrical Engineer will drive new product development, extensions to our existing products, and innovation into new markets and technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the design and development of new products and subsystems, electrical and electromechanical component engineering, specifications, design analysis and validation, legacy product modifications, schematic and board layout creation, prototypes and mock-ups, validation testing, and competitive analysis.  
  • Translates customer needs into electrical designs which meet cost and quality goals.
  • May lead projects and direct support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing, preparation of verification test protocols and reports, and proof of concept/prototype devices and systems.
  • May perform technical research, feasibility studies, and testing of new and modified designs in areas such as sensors, networking, software, measurement, fluidics, and electronics.
  • Generates creative, innovative solutions which may lead to patentable ideas and products.
  • Interfaces with consultants, customers, suppliers, sales, and customer support, and works on a national, regional or global basis.
  • Trains and mentors less senior staff to support business initiatives and strategic goals, and evaluates or troubleshoots problems. Transfers knowledge/ technology solutions within or across groups.

Working Relationships:

 

Collaborates with cross functional teams including Marketing, Supply chain, Quality, and Operations, and Customer Service.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE), Computer Engineering, (BSCE), or equivalent combination of training and experience
  • 5+ years experience in product development and support
  • Experience with sensors, IoT, wireless systems, networks, and/or communications protocols a plus
  • Software and/or mobile application development experience a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver system designs displaying creativity and innovation
  • Knowledge of Water Management Systems (plumbing/fluid control) is a plus
