Overview

Symmons Industries is a family-owned, premier domestic manufacturer of commercial and residential plumbing products. We are proudly respected in the industry for the quality of our products and customized service levels. Headquartered in Braintree, MA, Symmons is currently seeking a Receiver to safely unload all deliveries made and verify that the material is the correct item and count per the Trucking Bill and Packing List. The Receiver will also replenish manufacturing floors with correct material and quantities in a timely manner. 

Responsibilities

  • Unload/load materials from trucks and containers
  • Moving and storing a variety of materials, parts or products
  • Filling product orders and ensuring materials are supplied to designated departments
  • Maintaining accuracy in inventory counts
  • Receive material through purchase orders and enter into Symmons ERP system
  • Properly store material in warehouse locations
  • Routinely perform cycle counts
  • Keep a safe, clean working environment
  • Other duties as assigned

Working Relationships:

  • Must be able to work with and professionally communicate with all team members inside and outside the stockroom operation.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1-3 years of experience working in manufacturing/warehouse setting preferred
  • Able to operate power equipment (i.e. fork trucks, rider walkie, order picker and power hand jack)
  • A valid driver’s license
  • Must have Basic Math and English skills as well as the ability to follow both verbal and written work instructions
  • Must have a passing grade on the Basic Math and English test that will be issued by the company
  • Microsoft Office skills preferred
  • Must be able to lift and move material up to 35 lbs
  • Certified in Forklift training and previous Material Handling experience are a plus
  • Passing of DOT (Department of Transportation) physical required
