Since the 1930’s Symmons has been a company committed to providing solutions. Headquartered in Braintree, Masschusetts, we are seeking a District Sales Manager responsible for driving sales growth of Symmons products by managing key relationships with Representative Agencies, wholesalers, contractors, designers, and owners in the defined region.


    • Responsible for building plans, managing pipeline projects and executing the tactics necessary to achieve a quota of sales volume in the district which will roll up to the region
    • Coordinate strategy development and related activities with key  leadership personnel responsible for representative agency programs
    • Manage a team of Representative Agency sales personnel to drive sales growth
    • Responsible for all Symmons product sales in the assigned district
    • Manage assigned territory project work through the sales funnel
    • Responsible for reporting sales metrics to leadership and managing operating process as defined by the sales leadership team
    •  As needed, report to Symmons leadership progress updates, strategy plans, key customer engagements and strategic initiatives




    • Bachelor’s Degree Required-preferably in business, engineering, management or another related area
    • 5 years related Sales Leadership experience, including 2 or more years of specific experience managing independent reps; regional sales responsibility is preferred.
    • Experience with Salesforce CRM software is preferable
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites

    • Experience in brand management, channel management, trade marketing/trade promotion management experience preferred
    • Self-directed, results oriented, have an established background in relationship building and have strong communication and presentation skills. 
    • Ability to manage an operating rhythm with a team of sales professionals
    • Ability to coach, develop and manage individual sales people to maximize potential from each person as well as the entire team
    • Ability to learn skills in creating, developing and coaching a sales team
    • Adept at creative thinking, problem-solving and managing flexibility in a dynamic customer environment
    • Strong analytical skills balanced with creative ability
    • Ability to manage sales budgets, forecasting, and competitive pricing to drive sales
    • Strong organizational and proven project management skills
    • Acute attention to details and ability to articulate well
    • Able to work effectively across business functions
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability and desire to multi-task

    Physical Requirements:

    • Sitting at a workstation utilizing a computer for up to 8 hours a day
    • Standing and/or walking for up to 8 hours a day
    • Ability to lift and move material up to 35 pounds
    • 75% overnight domestic travel
