The Director of Sales – Key Segments will spearhead driving sales growth in the Hospitality market segment and lead our National Account Distribution Partners throughout the US and Canada. This is a pivotal leadership role whose primary focus will be to develop, implement, and execute targeted sales strategy encompassing all Symmons products.  The ideal candidate must be self-directed, results oriented, have an established background in National Account relationship building, development & execution of strategic planning and RFP Processes.

 

In this role, the Director of Sales – Key Segments will be responsible for development of key relationships with national & regional hospitality brands, owners & developers, and influential specification groups (Architects, Engineers & Designers). Ability to manage several team members exclusively focused on Hospitality. Additionally, this role will be expected to lead National Wholesale Distribution from a corporate level and manage a direct report focused on facilitating these initiatives at a local level. Engagement with both direct and indirect sales team members to ensure execution of strategy and opportunities will be pivotal to maximizing opportunities. Along with managing those relationships this person will be required to report to Symmons leadership with progress updates and all strategic plans, key customer engagements and key initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the RFP process for national, regional, and local Hospitality organizations leading to Symmons specification approval.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, including corporate clients, specification influencers and owners / developers to deliver sales plan.
  • Create, implement, and execute strategies designed to enhance Symmons RFP brand standards / relationships / revenue.
  • Lead the National Wholesale Distribution Partners relationship from a corporate level while ensuring alignment of mutual goals and objectives are executed at a local level in the field.
  • Responsible for managing National Hospitality Accounts relationships at the corporate level with key Hospitality partners such as Marriott Global, Hilton Worldwide, IHG, Hyatt, Choice Brands, and others as assigned.
  • Identify & facilitate conversion of IoT Water Management Solution (Evolution Software) opportunities within Hospitality Market to ARR
  • Manage pricing strategy within the hospitality segment and negotiate contracts to ensure maximum profitability while capturing incremental market share.
  • Develop and leverage relationships with hospitality focused distribution partners (Ferguson, HDS, and Procurement companies) to communicate brand value, execution of opportunities and discover incremental opportunities.
  • Network and gather information about the latest trends and strategies by attending industry conferences and events.
  • Develop relationships with impactful Architects, Engineers and Designers focused on the Hospitality Market.
  • Engagement with Salesforce CRM to develop KPI’s, report efficiency and facilitation of opportunities to yield incremental sales orders.
  • Analyze market trends to identify new business opportunities and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Leverage US & Canadian direct Symmons Sales team and independent Rep Agencies to follow through and deliver on the Hospitality opportunities developed.
  • Work closely with marketing and operations to ensure a cohesive approach to sales and support.
  • Create and maintain sales reports to track performance and progress toward goals.
  • Ability to communicate Hospitality & National Wholesale Distribution sales plan, results, and needs with Symmons Senior Leadership.
  • Internally educating our leaders and a wider salesforce on trends/strategic initiatives in the overall hospitality industry.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, management, or related area required.
  • 10+ years previous experience in Hospitality product/services related sales with an emphasis on the major brands and key industry associations.
  • Experience in business case analysis, strategic planning and implementation required.
  • Proficient written, verbal and presentation skills required.
  • Experience with Salesforce software.
  • Experience with specification based manufactured products preferred.
  • Knowledge of wholesale segment of bath and kitchen industry preferred.
  • Strong computer skills required; proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Microsoft Outlook necessary as well as experience with data warehouse sales reporting systems.
  • 50% Travel to key accounts nationally
